On April 29, 2023, Carrollton High School (CHS) hosted a prom with the theme of “Arabian Nights.” The dance started at 7:30 and lasted till 10:00 pm. But upon their arrival, students who were attending the dance could participate in Promenade. Promenade is a way for the town to see the students who attend prom all dressed up and in their fancy cars. Promenade started around 5 pm, just a short amount of time before the crowning of the Prom King and Queen. The crowning was roughly around 6:30 pm. During this time, it was announced that seniors Jaxon Rinkes and Bobby McGinnis are Prom King and Queen. The Prom court includes junior Gunner Burgett and Claire Hostetler as Prom Prince and Princess. The overall court consisted of seniors Chase Garland, Cayden Rininger, Chase Oehlstrom, Braxton Swearingen, Lauren Marmo, Brylie Wade, Mackenzie Burgett, and Carynn Meek. Prom Queen Bobby McGinnis stated, “It was very exciting, and being crowned Prom Queen made me feel seen, and it was a good way to leave senior year.” Prom Princess Claire Hostetler stated, “It was a super cool experience to get to be prom princess and it made prom more fun.” Prom continues to be a tradition amongst upperclassmen students to remember their final years at CHS.
